As a Graduate developer within our SITS team you will play a key role in developing a market leading solution which improves higher education institutions globally.

The Role

We are currently seeking a Junior Developer to join our SITS development team. Whether you are a recent graduate with limited experience looking for your first commercial role or you have already started your software journey, this role will provide a great opportunity to develop your skills within a first class, market leading and globally deployed product.

Working within one of our agile teams within SITS Development, you will work in partnership with product management, quality assurance and support colleagues to make sure that you are deploying code that you can be proud of.

We primarily develop in Uniface for server side processing and the client application, using JavaScript and jQuery to support our e: Vision front end to the application. Other technologies are also used within our solution. Training on Uniface would be provided to the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Writing code to competently develop and maintain basic desk or web-based solutions across all tiers based on user requirements, or detailed design, using the appropriate tools and adhering to coding standards and UI Designs.

In addition, you will:

  • Designing, developing, testing and documenting changes following agreed standards and practices.
  • Understanding and following the designated development methodology, actively contributing to all phases of development.
  • Accurately tracking and providing real time updates in work item tracking system, where available.
  • Acting as third line support for product
  • Maintaining and expanding knowledge of existing and new technologies related to the job role.

  • Aptitude for problem solving in a creative way, with the ability to take a problem and create a solution
  • Meticulous attention to detail and consistently accurate and thorough in all work
  • Good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively collaboratively in a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain things in a way that is easily understood by others.
  • An understanding of multi-tiered architecture
  • Knowledge of server side, web or SQL development technologies are advantageous but not essential.
